CONNECTING
YOU TO SOMEONE
WITH A SHARED
EXPERIENCE

Talking to someone who’s had a bone sarcoma can make your path an easier one. We connect patients on a one-to-one basis, matching those who can best share their experiences.

Our peer support offers a way to speak about what it’s like to go through diagnosis, treatment and post treatment with someone who has lived it.  Ask questions to understand what to expect, benefit from practical advice and receive wellbeing support.

It’s difficult to find others who have faced the same challenges as you, but you’re not alone. We’re here to help you get support.

OUR PEER SUPPORT SERVICE

We look to connect individuals wanting support with those that have already been through it.  We encourage a mentor style relationship.

This is achieved through:
Sharing knowledge and experience
Providing encouragement
Creating a space to feel accepted and understood

THE DIFFERENT ROLES

THE MENTEE

As a Mentee you will be looking for support from a Mentor. It maybe that you are have just been diagnosed, you could be in treatment or long finished... the important thing is that you want to talk to someone who has been where you are now.

THE MENTOR

As a Mentor you will have been through treatment for a bone sarcoma. You now want to help others by sharing all that you learnt on the way.

"Asking for help isn't a sign of weakness, it's a sign of strength"
